some hints and tips you may like

Dirty and Smelly Microwaves

Very common problem in most households. Top Tip, cut up half a lemon and put it in a microwave safe bowl then ½ fill with water, take the bowl and place in the microwave. Turn on the microwave for between 5 and 10 minutes checking every couple of minutes. When the time is up carefully take out the bowl and place in the sink or somewhere safe and allow to cool and then wipe the inside of the microwave with a micro cloth or kitchen roll. The inside will not only smell nice but will look like new. Top tip, while you are doing the above make yourself a tea or coffee and put your feet up!

Lime scale on the taps and showerhead

If you live in a hard water area then you’ll know this problem only too well. Top Tip, Soak cotton wool or a cloth in white vinegar and wrap around the taps or showerhead and then cover with foil and leave for 2 to 3 hours. After the time is up unwrap the foil and cloth from the items and the lime scale will just simply wipe off.

Scale in your kettle

Half fill your kettle with water and pour a cup of white vinegar and boil. Once boiled carefully empty the contents down your kitchen sink. Rinse the kettle with cold water fill and boil. Your kettle will then be as good as new. Guess what you have just cleaned your sink waste pipe as well.

Bad smelling washing machine

Umm I think we all suffer with this one from time to time. Again white vinegar comes to the rescue. Select an empty cycle but instead of using washing powder use a full cup of white vinegar in the tray.

The vinegar will go through the whole system and eliminate all the bacteria leaving your machine smelling like new again.

Marks on the sole plate of your iron

When your iron is completely cool put some toothpaste on a cloth and rub all over the plate. Wipe off with a damp cloth and wham bang the plate is like new.
